Week 4: This week we’re talking about how we can keep a calm and level head in the face of fear and unchartered challenges. We need courage in order to make good, sound decisions– decisions that show character and demonstrate our values. Maya Angelou voiced it well when she said; “One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.” How do you interpret what she said? And if we’re not born with courage, how can we help ourselves and others harness it? This week, your Powerful Thought Assignment is to contemplate the connection between courage and character. When has courage brought out the best in your character? What happens to you in the absence of courage?
