November Powerful Word – GENEROSITY – Week 1
This week, we’re talking about generosity and donating our valuable items– our treasures. Whether we donate money, clothes, shoes, household goods, toys, or other coveted items, they are sure to go to people who really need them. Giving can be extremely fulfilling and has an amazing affect on both the giver and the receiver. As Lao Tzu points out; “The wise man does not lay up his own treasures. The more he gives to others, the more he has for his own.” Do you agree? What do you periodically give to charity or others in need? How can we encourage children to seek ways to give rather than receive? This week, your Powerful Thought Assignment is to rate yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 on your generosity with those who are in need. What can you give or do this month to help others? How can we inspire friends, family, and children to give?
