Mr. Herrman
STEP ONE: Please send a quick email to the legislators in your district. You can submit 1 online form and email all of your legislators! If you live near AMA Bryant you are probably in the 46th District, but click here to confirm. Simply copy and paste the copy below (or edit, or write something unique):
- Click on the name of one of your legislators.
- Verify your district
- Enter your contact info
- Bill # = 2334
- Position = Support
- Subject = Please support HB 2334 and exempt martial arts schools from retail tax
- Message = I am a member of Alpha Martial Arts in Seattle, WA. During the 2015 legislative session the legislature voted for and passed HB 1550, simplifying the taxation of amusement, recreation and physical fitness services. As a result martial arts schools are now unfairly treated as ‘retail items’ instead of ‘services’ and subject to retail sales tax up to 9.6{1d96d231ab15286cc2909578709a2dba1f05c1bc2821770822e5433a4504f686}. Gymnastics, yoga, dance, tennis, golf, swimming and other instructional lessons are not subject to retail sales tax and martial arts should not be either. Please support HB 2334, which has been introduced to correct the structural inefficiencies of HB 1550 and exempt martial arts from retail sales tax.
Martial Arts schools are not gyms!
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Sincerely,
(Your First and Last Name) - Would you like a response = Yes
